"Bark For Life"

The Canines were a remarkable new addition to the
2007 Relay For Life of Pottstown with 47 dogs raising over $13,000 in less than two months time!

8am to 1pm
Riverfront Park, Pottstown PA

8am - 9am: Canine Registration (Pavilion area along Industrial Highway , diagonally acrosss from Montogomery County Community College)

  • New Registration for dogs that are not already on teams will be $25 and includes a bandana
  • Dogs that are already registered on ACS Canine Relay teams can pick up their Relay bandanas at the registration table

Setup team fundraising

9:00am: Results of The Mercury Dimes Make A Difference Pie competition. Yes, an administrator of The Mercury will be voted by Mercury staff ACS Relay Dimes contributions to "win" and be hit with a pie! Don't miss the pie-in-the-face fun that supports the Pottstown Relay For Life!

9:10am: Blessing of the Animals

9:15am: Canine Relay Walk beings. Cancer survivors take their positions to lead the ACS Canine Relay For Life. The 1 mile walk follows the beautiful river path through Riverfront Park

10:00am: Canine Relay Remarks

10:30am: Canine Games and Activities

11:30am: Team fundraising, Exhibitions, Contests, Entertainment, programs, vendors

1:00pm: Conclusion of the ACS CRFL

ACS Canine Relay For Life
Participation Guidelines:

  • On April 19, 2008, the ACS Canines Relay For Life of Pottstown will include registered canine teams and canines from the community registered on the day of the Canine Relay For Life of Pottstown - “Bark For Life”.
  • The ACS CRFL will be a 1 mile walk
  • Water will be available on the walk and following the walk for canine participants
  • Doggie clean up bags will be provided • A veterinarian will be available at the site
  • Site clean up will be the responsibility of the CRFL volunteers
  • All proceeds of the CRFL are included in the ACS Relay For Life fundraising total

Canine Etiquette the day of the Canine Relay For Life Includes:

  • A maximum 6’ leash during the Relay walk
  • Current canine vaccinations
  • Use of canine trash bags for pick up
  • Canine owners respect each dog’s space
  • Water will be available for dogs and people – bring your own if possible
  • Canine fundraising items must meet canine consumer regulations
  • Canine fundraising food items must include ingredients and storage instructions
