Color The Town Purple!
To honor the community support we received in 2007, the Relay’s 2008 theme is Hometown USA . . . Color the Town Purple! We’ll be turning the Pottsgrove High School stadium into our very own “Relay Hometown” on May 31-June 1. This year’s theme has two parts.
First, teams will decorate their tent sites after a type of business or landmark that is special or significant to them. We hope to have all aspects of our community represented such as churches, schools, libraries, grocery stores, gas stations, landmarks, etc.
The second part of our Hometown theme is that teams are encouraged to “adopt a business” to partner with for the year to work together on fundraising activities that will provide additional donations to your team for the American Cancer Society’s mission of providing research, education, advocacy and patient services. These fundraising activities can be as easy as Dimes Make A Difference, Relay Moon and Stars, or Round Up for Cancer where customers round their purchase up to the next dollar amount with the difference coming to Relay. Once a business partners with a team, they will receive a sign for their window to show the community they are committed to ending this disease that affects too many.
Our goal is to involve our entire community to Color The Town Purple to show the World we are united in the fight against cancer!
