The Youth Steering Committee was formed to involve
and mentor youth in leadership roles of the Relay.
The committee representatives were chosen because
of their leadership and organizational abilities to
involve their peers in the fight against cancer.
They
also plan and organize activities geared to youth at
the Relay. Youth
Activities in the process of being planned for
this year are a Scavenger Hunt, a Frozen T-shirt contest that is back by popular demand, The Mercury Newspaper Costume Contest, and pick-up games that will be ongoing all day.
The Youth Steering Committee goals are to recruit
three new youth teams and raise $3,000 to be used
for research, education, advocacy and patient services.
